While any good logo design must work in black only, many brands use colour extremely effectively to uniquely identify their brand.

While you might not think simply using, in these cases, yellow, blue, pink or orange would make one brand any more memorable than the next, I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone who didn’t recognize the brands from these Comex advertisements. Continue reading...

I knew Pantone made more than just ink and swatch books, I’d seen a few bags and what not around the place. I just found these over at Fubiz, Pantone bags, badges, cups, shirts and even muffins.

Natures colour palette

Lauren Marie over at Creative Curio was kind enough to share half a dozen of her great photos and accompanying colour palettes found in the natural world.

“Nature provides some of the most striking and beautiful color palettes imaginable! You don’t have to look far to find great inspiration. Flowers especially can give you such a varied and bright color scheme that you will never run out of ideas.

I had so many flower pictures I wanted to share with you, but this is one of my favourites. Notice how the complimentary colors of green and red are present in nature. Red and yellow are two parts of the triad of primary colors (blue is the other one), too.” Continue reading...
