A logo by any other name

.

apple logo

Every so often in design the stars align, a brand and idea come together to create a fantastic logo. But what if things had been different?

The Apple logo is undoubtedly one of the most ubiquitous symbols of our time, what if Steve Jobs had launched his empire as…

eggplant logo
Eggplant Computers.

onion logo
Onion Computers.

capsicum logo
Capsicum Computers.

pumpkin logo
Pumpkin Computers.

tomato logo
Tomato Computers.

What do you think?

Would you be a part of the Eggplant cult following? Proud to have that white sticker on everything you own?

  1. Shirley says:

Eggplant computers lol. No sticker for me thanks.

  2. Brendon says:

I think I’m with Shirley, having a pumpkin or an eggplant on my computer just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

  3. Omar says:

Pumpkin Computers.. has a nice ring to it!

  4. Doctor Maz says:

    I propose LEMON computers.

Or would that be confused with Lenovo?

  5. Andrew Keir says:

    Shirley, Brendon,
Lucky for you they went with Apple hey?

    Omar,
I could go for pumpkins, or maybe onion too?

    Maz,
I think the “bought a lemon” jokes might be a bit overwhelming. Lenovo *shudder* I don’t even want to think about buying one.

  6. LB says:

A funny concept…this makes me think of so many brand names which don’t have much sensible names e.g GAP, Google and Lego but now they are the most trendiest names in the brand world.

It’s amazing to see how the term “Google” is a verb now and represents the idea of searching anything :D

  7. Charles says:

LB – Actually, LEGO does have a sensible name…

“In 1934, the company came to be called “Lego”, from the Danish phrase ‘leg godt’, which means “play-well”.”

What do you think?
