Mojo,

While you'll no doubt see these all styles somewhere at any given time, particular trends do emerge and fade from year to year.

Logolounge catalogues thousands of logo designs a year going back as far as 2003. If you're interested be sure to check them out.

I don't think these are 2009 trends specifically, unfortunately it seems they're the same every year.

You're absolutely right Joni, some of these would be totally lost if reproduced in anything but full colour.

The delectable chocolate logo design in the candy stripe section in particular is almost unreadable as it is, let alone in monochrome.

Some such as the concealed images logos modernism logos are still obviously widely adaptable, but many companies are definitely moving away from this style of logo design.

It is nice to see so many colorful logo designs, but I feel that most of these logo designs are not very flexible, many would not work well if printed in only one color or embossed. Also a lot of these would not be very readable when viewed quickly on a sign from a moving car.

But maybe more companies are just concerned about how their logo will look when viewed online and on a full color business card.
